We are Matteo and Mercedes, Italian and Argentine; we met while travelling in Bolivia. A few years later, we set off on a new adventure: transform this vintage country house into a unique retreat in the pampas, for travellers and adventurers.

We renovated the house with attention to detail and a genuine respect for its historical value, reusing the original materials. In addition, we combined several sustainable home attributes, including solar energy for electricity and water heating, wastewater biological treatment, and low energy consumption, among other.

The Guesthouse, nestled among rolling green meadows, woods and streams, is named after famous local writer Ricardo Güiraldes’ first novel, which narrates the life of a young man called Raucho.
